Our programs are developed in a proactive approach amongst our highly-skilled staff. Each one is designed to address the varying needs of today while keeping our eyes on the issues that will soon need our attention. The programs provide a comprehensive array of services with a sustainment plan in place to maintain the success gained in our clients’ lives.
We strive to rescue the lives affected by domestic violence and unfortunate circumstances. We want to provide them the strength, knowledge and resources to sustain their lives. We want them to know they are not alone. It may be our efforts that help them get life back together, but these programs are more than just clothing and food. They are the culmination of support from the surrounding communities and organizations like us that want to build a brighter tomorrow for all involved.

Emergency Youth Shelter
Our Emergency Youth Shelter is licensed by the California Community Care Licensing Division. It is open to any runaway, homeless, or throwaway teenager (ages 10-17) who agrees to abide by the rules and participate in the program. The program is set up to help young people deal with past personal issues, such as anger or drug use. We also make clear the dangers of street living. All of this is done to help direct them toward positive and productive life paths.
From the earliest moments of intake, a complete plan is designed by each participant with staff help. This ensures that the time (generally two weeks) in the shelter can be used effectively. A comprehensive scope of services are provided by the program and range from the basics of food and clothing to the more complex like individual and group counseling, medical services, legal help and long-term safety plans. After a participant graduates from the Youth Shelter, our goal is to make sure that the youth exit into safe, long-term housing, whether that is reunification with their parents or another appropriate arrangement. A six-month aftercare follow-up period is also in place so that staff can stay in touch to provide whatever support a they might need to stay on track.
The program is completely voluntary, and teenagers typically have an excellent experience in the program due to the goal-oriented, supportive environment
Domestic Violence Shelter Program
Domestic Violence Shelter Program
We have four domestic violence shelters located throughout the greater Los Angeles area (locations are confidential to protect participants and staff).
These are open to domestic violence victims with or without their children. Domestic violence victims and their children can also be served through the Community Service Center Program.
The innovative structure of this program provides emergency shelter and up to two years of transitional shelter, free of charge, all under the same roof. This model provides stability and encourages a faster recovery toward self-sufficiency. It is excellent for the families, as it gives them a stable safe environment and school-age children can continue in the same school for several years.
The main goal of the program is to help women and children overcome the personal traumas related to domestic violence. We strive to help them set up safe new lives with the skills they need for long-term success. The first step to reaching these goals is to create a comprehensive plan. We make note of their strengths, areas that need attention, and their long-term dreams, with concrete steps that will help them achieve their goals.
The program offers comprehensive services that include case management, counseling, job development and placement, legal help, life skills training, financial literacy, parenting education, referrals for free medical and access to other services that a participant might need.
Children are highly valued in the program. We have designed it to skillfully address dysfunctions caused by domestic violence regardless of the child’s age or family composition. Each child is treated as an individual and as a family member. The program provides the support to enrich each child’s life, tailored to each one’s age and developmental stage.
The program has a long history of making a permanent difference in the lives of domestic violence victims. In this very supportive environment, clients are free to focus their efforts on reaching their goals and creating the lives they envision
